The sites, sounds and observations of my life.
On a gray and snowy Friday afternoon in Minnesota, a nice group of Bloggers came together to learn more about blogging. There were 2 speakers that would present for this "mini" conference. (Mini because of the amount of time needed to commit to attend, the size of the group and the number of speakers.)
The first speaker was Becky Flansburg, and she gave some good tips and insight on how to network well with other people. How to give a brief "elevator speech", especially when you're not in an elevator, and how to connect to gain a larger following to your blog. She also spoke about how this kind of networking could lead to "guest blogger" opportunities for the audience as well. The final speaker was Josh Braaten who spoke about how to be effective with Google Analytics. Along with Google Feedburner and PostRank Analytics. He gave a concise explanation as to how to better use these applications to figure out what kind of following a blogger has, and how to see where their "traffic" is coming from. Knowing this can help a blogger really target who their true audience is. After the mini conference was done, people networked if their was time to and some pictures were taken of the group as well. Good work by Melissa Berggren, Arik Hanson and Judy Grundstrom in organizing it.
