Q - #1 Were you born in MN or did you move to MN?
A: Moved to Minnesota! Born in Illinois. #jectv
Q - #2 So what brought you from IL to MN?
A: I got my Adv. degree at #Drake in Des Moines - and they told us MPLS was the new mecca of advertising. pt 1/2
So I launched a direct mail assault to the agencies here until I got a copywriting job at a small ind. agency pt 2/2
Q - #3 Sounds like you're a go-getter! What do you think of the advertising community in MSP?
A: LOVE it. I intentionally chose MSP vs Chicago. The creativity in MSP is not just from the ad biz, it's all around us.
Q - #4 I have to agree with you there! So how did you get started using Social Media as a tool?
A; If you're going to include the first wave of blogs, that goes back to starting a personal blog aka Mommy Blog in 2005. 1/2
from there, it was a slippery slope into FB and Twitter! Although I was on LinkedIn waaay back when it wasn't cool! ha! 2/2
Q - #5 So for awhile it sounds like. Had any cool or interesting experiences that you can share using Social Media?
A: 2 awesome exps just last week: #1. Twitter opened doors to new biz in PA - last week I was invited by DM to submit a bid
#2. Executing SM for another client - and we just broke through that "awareness barrier" this week. he's on the radar!
that probably sounds really basic, but I love stuff like that!
Q - #6 So an useful tool for you. For a person or biz new to Social Media, what you you say to encourage them to use it?
A: if they're completely new? I'd start by showing them this: (YouTube Video)
and then I'd show them more - more results, more examples, more case studies. To convince? I'd show vs tell ;)
it's funny, my first question is always 'what are you trying to do?' and then we see how SM can be part of the entire strategy
Q - #7 Besides your work, what are some other passions of yours that you enjoy doing?
A: Reading way too late into the night. Playing with my daughters. And pretending to be good at oil painting, ha ha.
OH! And learning sign language. We're really enjoying that with our girls now - it's all about communication!
Q - #8 Wow @rribbitz , lots of activity in your life! Now for fun: Favorite coffee shop? Favorite restaurant? Favorite store?A: Fav coffee shop: Hopkins Depot. Restaurant: ANYTHING Mexican. Store: does
amazon.com count?
Q - #9 How about favorite "Brick-n-Mortar" store?
A: Brick-n-Mortar" store: ok, gotta be Michael's. I can't get enough arty stuff to do at home! LOVE their selection
Q - #10 A last question for @Rribbitz - What final thought, idea or experience would you like to share?
A: something I learned from a client: Givers Gain. Can't say enough about all the bennies that come from helping OTHERS succeed
